I tutor English to all ages and skill levels, both online and in person. My main focus in tutoring sessions is teaching useful vocabulary and grammar which are relevant to your interests and needs. Learning or improving language skills can be difficult, so I aim to make my sessions as fun as possible, and every lesson is individually tailored to your personal needs and skill level. I am very flexible in the way I tutor language and strive to ensure that my lessons are tailored to your particular learning style. As each person has specific desires and needs, I use a variety of worksheets and textbooks in my tutoring sessions and will provide you with free copies of the required texts for each lesson. If appropriate, I use songs and newspaper articles in my sessions so that you are able to learn the context of the language skills you are developing. I have a deep understanding of other languages, and therefore understand the English speaking difficulties that speakers of specific languages struggle with. This allows me to focus on your basic needs in our first sessions in order to improve your language skills immediately, as well as ensuring that I understand and easily correct any mistakes stemming from your native language. The types of tutoring I am able to offer includes conversation, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary which is relevant to your needs, and preparation for the IELTS and other language proficiency tests. I can also offer instruction in university language and business language and I am also available to assist in the correcting and editing of assessments, particularly at the university level. Hobbies
I'm a writer and poet, currently working on publishing my first book. I love learning new languages which has lead me to become fluent in French and speak Spanish at an intermediate level. I'm currently learning Korean, and have a good understanding of Vietnamese from my time spent living there. I also understand basic Tagalog and Bahasa Indonesia. Other than languages and writing, I'm a keen traveller, gardener and singer.
